I became a Banking Partner in 1996 and I am now Head of the Corporate and Financial Institutions department. Burges Salmon is one of the UK’s leading law firms and the work we do is often high value and complex. Our client base, which includes many multi-national companies, expects and demands advice and service of the highest quality.

It is important to Burges Salmon to recruit people at all levels of the highest calibre and our trainees are no exception. Our staff, including our trainees, represent the future of this firm, and our comprehensive recruitment process (involving open days, vacation placements, assessment centres and the traditional interview) ensures that we only recruit the very best trainees.

We are committed to developing and training our lawyers to allow them to grow to their full potential within a supportive environment and our training contract provides exactly that opportunity. We give trainees real responsibility at an early stage in their career and whilst this makes the training period challenging, it is ultimately very rewarding. Our training programme provides our trainees with an excellent start to their legal career.
