Environmental Policy

We are committed to reducing the impact of our activities on the environment. We recognise that our impact on the environment results principally from the following activities:

  • procurement and use of manufactured and natural resources
  • waste generation
  • energy use through travel

Our Environmental Policy details how we aim to achieve our committment.

In 2010 we will move into one of the most modern and comfortable office premises in central Bristol, a key objective is to develop one of the city's most environmentally-friendly buildings.

The Carbon Trust are advising us via their Design Advice Scheme to ensure we achieve the best possible performance in the following categories:

  • Ecology
  • Energy use
  • Forward thinking
  • Health & wellbeing
  • Land use
  • Management
  • Materials
  • Pollution
  • Transport
  • Water.

We are making every effort to provide the most advanced environmentally-friendly facilities in our new building. At every stage we will consider the most energy efficient option possible. Currently, the list of provisions includes:

  • Air conditioning with remote energy saving sensors
  • Building with environmentally friendly materials
  • Cooling using Harbour Water
  • Energy efficient heating
  • Increased fresh air ventilation
  • Maximising day light
  • Rainwater recycling
  • Recycling facilities.
