Vivienne joined Burges Salmon in September 1997 as a trainee, having studied Jurisprudence at St Hugh's college, Oxford. A partner in the Agriculture, Property Litigation and Environment Department she is a senior member of the Agricultural Unit and is involved in all aspects of contentious agricultural work.
 
Her practice involves advising on property disputes primarily in relation to agricultural property including landlord and tenant, agricultural banking and insolvency (with expertise in personal and partnership insolvency), farming partnership disputes and commercial contract disputes within the agricultural sector.
 
Recognised in Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession 2007 as "the cream of her generation" for agricultural property disputes Vivienne was a contributor to the 9th Edition of Scammell & Densham's Law of Agricultural Holdings and the joint author (together with Peter Williams) of the Burges Salmon publication, Agricultural Arbitrations and Dispute Resolution. She contributed to the Butterworths Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents, Agricultural Tenancies volume and has lectured widely to clients, the RICS and the CAAV.
