Steven rejoined Burges Salmon in 2008 after a spell in-house with global engineering company, Rolls-Royce plc. He first joined Burges Salmon in 2004 having trained in London and Tokyo with Simmons & Simmons. Steven works in the Construction Unit and specialises in the following practice areas (both contentious and non-contentious):

Steven's work spans a number of sectors including renewable energy, transport, property, retail and aerospace. He has particular expertise in the drafting of complex engineering projects and long-term maintenance agreements. Recent examples of work include:
- advising a German engineering company on a contract for the installation of off-shore wind turbines
- advising a bank on the construction-related issues associated with a £100m revolving credit facility
- advising a major aerospace company on the provision of long-term fleet management services
