Andrew specialises in corporate and commercial transactions including outsourcing, joint ventures, investments and acquisitions in the following practice areas:
Prior to joining Burges Salmon as a partner in 2001, Andrew was an outsourcing partner with a US firm and previously a corporate technology lawyer with Freshfields for five years. Andrew has been the international director of the National Outsourcing Association (details at www.noa.co.uk) since 1998 and was re-elected for a further 4 year term with effect from 1 January 2009. He was appointed to the board of the European Outsourcing Association in 2005. Examples of Andrew's work include:
- advising General Healthcare Group (the largest provider of private managed healthcare in the UK) on and roll-out of integrated master patient index and patient scheduling technologies across 49 hospitals
- advising PWC on its £750m outsourcing of the BBC's financial processes through joint venture with EDS
- advising Somerfield on its £120m offshoring of IT infrastructure to TATA and telecommunications outsourcing to VANCO (now part of India's RELIANCE Group)
- advising HONDA Finance Europe on sourcing and integration of its cross-border systems integration project supporting an annual spend of £400m and underpinning re-engineering of financial processes in the UK, Spain, Germany and Italy
- advising London Transport on its £1.8bn outsourcing of ticketing and associated financial processes to EDS/CUBIC joint venture
- advising FTSE112 Inchcape on its worldwide IT outsourcing of management of its enterprise resourcing planning platform to Hewlett Packard supporting £5n+ of annual revenues
