Pensions and Incentives
Pensions
We have a team of four partners and 27 other lawyers specialising in the full range of non-contentious and contentious pensions matters.
We help trustees and private and public sector clients with defined benefit, defined contribution and hybrid schemes (whether opened, closed or in winding up) with all aspects of:
We keep our clients up to date with legal developments through our pensions law newsletter, Pensions, and through regular email alerts and briefings. You can read these on our Pensions and Incentives Publications and News pages.
We also provide tailored training for trustees and run regular seminars in our Bristol and London offices. Please see the Seminars page for further details.
"This firm maintains its position at the top of the market due to its ability to handle the most complex pensions issues and the sheer number of high-value schemes it advises, on both the trustee and company side" – Chambers UK 2011.
Incentives
We establish and advise on the full range of incentive arrangements approved by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) such as Enterprise Management Incentives, Company Share Option Plans, Share Incentive Plans and SAYE schemes.
We also advise on unapproved and bespoke arrangements including performance share plans, long term incentive plans, growth and partly paid shares and bonus schemes. Our experience gives us a good understanding of the tax, corporate, employment and implementation issues surrounding such schemes or arrangements. We can also provide professional trustee services and advice on employee benefit trusts.
We provide a full service from:
- designing schemes in line with your remuneration and commercial strategy
- assisting you on implementation and communicating with your employees
- supporting your corporate strategy including dealing with the implications arising out of sales, acquisitions or listing.
