Emma trained and qualified at Burges Salmon in 2001 after graduating in law from Bristol University. She is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and has completed the post graduate certificate in Pensions Law at Bristol University.
Recent work includes:
- acting as director of the trustee company on appointments to final salary and money purchase schemes which are open, closed or in winding up and schemes in a Pension Protection Fund assessment period
- a wide range of advice in relation to scheme closures, mergers and reconstruction
- advising on hybrid pension arrangements
- interpretation of trust deed and rules
- advising trustees on the day-to-day scheme issues
- drafting scheme documentation
