Private Client
Our Private Client Lawyers advise individuals, trustees and financial institutions on wealth structuring and the mitigation of tax. In addition to national and international trust, tax and estate planning, we advise entrepreneurs and owner managers on personal and business tax, and corporate and business structures. Members of the department also provide advice in connection with separation and divorce and in contentious areas such as trust and probate disputes, and enquiries by (and disputes with) tax authorities.
Clients include businessmen, entrepreneurs, professionals, landowners, farmers, foreign nationals and financial institutions.

Recent highlights include:
- drafting standard trust documentation for a number of financial institutions for use by their customers world-wide
- being commissioned by a major financial institution to provide in-depth training to all their bankers specialising in advice to UK resident non-domiciliaries. The training has included preparation of two detailed online modules; six face-to-face (three hour) training seminars; and production of question bank for multiple choice exam
- a "Family Office" style review for a client with interest in quoted and unquoted investments, farming, commercial and residential property help in trusts, LLPs, a partnership and a charitable trust. The discussion included the possibility of setting up a family limited partnership โ one of several occasions in which we have started to use this new form of structuring.
