John joined Burges Salmon in 2006. Prior to joining the firm John had a successful career as Technology and Business Process Consultant for leading financial and telecommunications organisations and utilities.
John has experience in dealing with both contentious and non contentious commercial property matters for a diverse range of commercial, private and government clients within the following sectors: utilities and energy (particularly nuclear), transport and technology, finance and retail.
Areas of expertise include nuclear estate property law, property finance, corporate occupier, landlord and tenant, property sales and acquisitions, statutory transfer schemes and corporate support.
John spent nine months on secondment with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
John is involved in the NDA’s ongoing asset use programme which aims to realise value from surplus land and buildings. John was a key member of the team involved in the sale of land at Wylfa in Anglesey, Oldbury in South Gloucestershire and Bradwell in Essex for nuclear new build. John has unique insight into site acquisitions and disposals relating to the current nuclear renaissance.
John is also a former Committee Member of the Electronic Law Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales and regularly consults and presents on the impact of technology on the transfer of land.
