Charities
Our work involves advising on all aspects of charity law and regulation, including establishing and registering charities, constitutional and governance advice and incorporation.
We advise trustees and directors on the nature and extent of their duties and liabilities and can provide bespoke training and guidance.
We also advise on:
- Mergers, joint ventures and other collaborative working arrangements
- Trading and commercial operations of charities including setting up and funding trading subsidiaries
- Applying for Schemes and Orders from the Charity Commission
Tax issues such as VAT and gift aid - Acquisitions and disposals of charity land
We advise many local and national charities from small grant-making trusts and local community organisations to large universities and other exempt charities such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
