31 March 2009
Our speakers will take a practical look at the contractual mechanism for termination and suspension in a number of standard form contracts as well as the common law position. They will also cover the potential changes to the Construction Act by examining their practical significance to the construction industry.
Topics will include:
- termination and suspension on construction contracts and appointments - what are the options and who takes the risk?
- proposed changes to the Construction Act; need for a 'contract in writing', abolition of 'pay when certified' clauses, changes to the right to suspend and payment notice mechanisms
- will payment bonds work?
