Sarah advises on all aspects of Family Law, usually where the assets are substantial or complex, specialising in:

  • Financial settlements on divorce
  • Pensions on divorce
  • Variation and capitalisation of maintenance claims
  • Asset Protection including pre and post marital agreements
  • Provisions for children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989
  • Arrangements for children on relationship breakdown

She works between our Bristol and London offices, seeing clients in either location.

Sarah has been accredited by Resolution as a Specialist Family Lawyer with particular specialisms in Advanced Financial Provision II (high net worth financial settlements) and Pensions on Divorce.  She also lectures on pensions on divorce and asset protection.

Sarah has experience of dealing with complex international cases, involving tax issues, trusts, offshore corporate structures and property and high value income cases.

Sarah works closely with members of our international and UK wealth structuring and estate planning teams on asset protection issues.  She also advises on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, where the claim is brought by a spouse, former spouse, cohabitant or dependant child.

She is ranked as a leader in her field in Chambers UK and is described in the 2011 edition as "fiercely organised and determined". Chambers UK 2012 predicts that she "will be a star of the future".  Legal 500 2011 recognises her “great experience and real tenacity”.

Sarah has received an award from Private Client Practitioner as being one of their "Top 35 private client practitioners under 35" in the UK for both 2009 and 2010.

Sarah is a member of Resolution (formerly the Solicitors' Family Association) and is a member of Resolution's Standards Committee.
