Sarah graduated in law from Cambridge University in 1983. Having trained in London, she practised initially as a commercial lawyer before developing a specialism in pensions law. Having been made a Partner in 1994 in her previous firm, she became head of the Pensions Group and principal executive director of its associated independent trustee company. She joined Burges Salmon LLP in 1999. Sarah advises trustees and employers on a full range of pensions law issues, and has a specialist interest in independent trusteeship, trustee training and corporate transactions. Sarah heads the trustee services unit at Burges Salmon LLP and is a full member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.
Recent experience includes:

acting as a director of the trustee company for the Pensions Regulator and other appointments including statutory independent trustee appointments; |

advising on hybrid pension arrangements; |

completing scheme compliance audit reviews; |

negotiating Bradstock agreements; |
 |
a wide range of advice in relation to scheme closure and scheme reorganisation; and |
 |
trustee training. |
Sarah lectures extensively on all aspects of pensions law both at client seminars and in-house.
