Private Banking
Our Private Banking work falls into two main categories:
- Work carried out by our Tax and Trusts team, in liaison with the Banking and Finance team, in relation to tax efficient offshore structures and banking services (including international trust product development, European real estate and trust planning and financial products)
- Work carried out by the Banking and Finance team in relation to retail products for bank customers, typically in relation to setting up new products and documentation for these purposes.
Recent highlights include the creation of several private trust company structures for Middle Eastern, European and Latin American clients, advice on over 100 non-UK real estate transactions in jurisdictions including France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Croatia, providing detailed advice and a tax opinion to an international private bank in relation to the issue of structured notes and other derivative products, and advising a European bank on the revision of its mortgage documentation to ensure MCOBÂ compliance, and review of its Consumer Credit regulation documentation.
