Data Protection and Freedom of Information
We provide advice on Data Protection, Privacy and Freedom of Information issues in individual transactions and on strategic positioning in light of national and international regulations and statutory frameworks.
We work with public authorities and private sector companies providing them with a wide range of legal and consultancy services which include:
- providing advice on compliance with European and UK legislation
- data protection audits of marketing and data processing activities and of storage of customer and employee data, including developing questionnaires and compliance project plans and implementing compliance actions
- advising on outsourcing and transfer of information inside and outside the EEA; procurement of compliant IT systems, drafting notices and responding to subject access requests and complaints
- advising on obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and on the Environmental Information Regulations 1992 and 2004
We also participate in industry bodies and interest groups with a view to inputting upon future legal developments in these areas.
